The vividwireless 4G wireless network is faster in more places, more of the time. And that means you can work faster and play faster, when you’re out and about within our coverage area.
Would you like to work and surf at a similar speed to ADSL broadband, but without being tied to a fixed line? We’ll satisfy your need for speed when you’re at home or on the go.
So, how fast is fast?
We’re serious about speed , so we test our speeds regularly. Network tests in June, 2011, showed that around 80% of our USB modem customers are enjoying typical download speeds of between 3.1Mbps and 6.3Mbps per second most of the time, when web browsing, emailing and video streaming.

Comparison based upon respective wireless broadband websites as at 4 October 2011. ^ Telstra stated speed ranges limited to capital cities and select regional areas as depicted on their coverage map. Outside these areas speeds may be slower.
How do we make it so fast?
Our 4G network is purpose built for data, not mobile phone calls. So you get more consistently fast speeds, day and night.
Why does speed matter?
Checking emails, tweeting, sharing pictures on Facebook®, catching up on last night’s TV, skyping friends and downloading music or movies? You’re probably doing all that and more, at the same time. The faster your Internet, the fewer frustrations waiting for files to download. So you can get more done, faster.
How can I get the best speed possible?
Your speed is affected by environmental and structural factors, as well as the type of device you use and the type of content you’re downloading - including where it’s coming from. You can boost your speed by…
- Using the USB modem booster with your USB modem
- Moving your device away from structural blockages, closer to a window if you’re inside
- Reducing the number of people sharing your modem’s Wi-Fi connection
In general, the closer you are to one of our base stations, the faster your Internet speed.
There are a few speed factors you can’t change, like the congestion on a website or local weather conditions. But even if you get a lower speed than the average range, you’ll still be able to do what you need to. 1Mbps lets you browse the web, check emails, make video calls and update your social media pages.
